Home renovations, part 2.

The walls have gone up another level and today is cement day. It’s coming along nicely and looking much more like a house every day.

Home renovations

Mum and dad are extending their house to include a studio for mum’s textile work and an office for dad.
Work is coming along nicely so far, and there are even a few little helpers.

Flowerpot – as seen through American eyes

This time last year my friend from Oregon came to visit for two weeks and I have now have some photos she took of our old house – inside and out. She is a fantastic photographer and has taken some beautiful shots. Enjoy Chris’s take on my childhood home. (And the ones my eldest took of us)

Flowerpot Rock – picture essay.

Hubby had taken Mr’s 13 & 16 caving so after my gym class I took a walk with Mr 8 to ‘the beach’. Technically it’s not a beach, and never actually was, but as kids we would call it ‘the beach’. We’re going to the beach, be back later…. That kind of thing. It’s all rocks and we would spend hours here exploring, looking for crabs, sitting and dreaming…
The road has eroded over the years and is not suitable for vehicular access any more. The shoreline has eroded and is not completely the same one I remember, but there are still familiar rocks protruding from the water at the right tide times. Rounding the last corner you are greeted rewarded with the most gorgeous view. I still love it after all these years. Just around to your right, is Flowerpot Rock, so named for its unusual shape.
This is all just a stones throw from the house, say 500m.

The house may be moving on but we will always have our memories.

Busy busy but very happy

Thankyou all for your birthday wishes. I had a fabulous day. We are not big on presents generally, but I got a few surprises, which as very sweet. My husband is a darling! I got lots of hugs from m eldest son, who had to laugh as he is nearly a whole head taller than me! Yikes, how to feel short.

We got to talking about stuff (yes we do still after all this time) which turned into a discussion about craft room vs lounge – further than I anticipated – and we are now moving my studio into the bigger room, and making the lounge smaller and cosier. Right next to the kitchen so there is less running through my space… Post coming soon about the move! I also received my camera connector kit for the iPad, so pictures will be so much easier to add in now. Again, very happy! I think I found myself a bag … Lots of happy here at the moment!

I feel like I am neglecting my readers if I don’t post every couple of days, and I have many things running through my head on what to post, just not enough hours in the day presently. I am still here.

There are big things happening here over the next few days, which may get a mention at some stage. But first things first, rebox for moving ‘house’.

Mr 8 came home from school and gave me this beautiful note, very cheeky but oh so cute, and how can you to smile and give him a hug.

On the front it has my age, and the back has an “I love you mum”

Keep smiling 🙂
