I’m back :-)

Well, kind of back.
I’m still keeping a low profile and only posting on two blogs, very occasionally on a third.
Given this is the original and more populated of them all I’m posting here to let you know I haven’t completely fallen off the earth.

Check out (and follow if want) the new posts on Cafรฉ Run and Crazy Chick Running.

It’s all about motorbikes, food and running these days.

Refresh and rethink

So much has been happening in my life, I’ve been all over the show since the beginning of the year. A lot has been going on in all aspects of my life and I’ve finally figured out a few things. Life has changed. I have changed. And my focus has changed on what I want and where I’m going. Adding to that is my starting of a full time job in the next few weeks that will be certainly change everything. Doing the 9-5 thing 5 days a week will be a big adjustment. I suppose that’s what kids and the husband are for – cooking and cleaning ๐Ÿ˜‰ They are good for many other things…making me smile everyday is just the start of the long list. It’s been a long road, they are important to me, and I wouldn’t have them any other way.

I’m re-focusing on things and deciding what really matters and can stay and “what will give” as a friend recently said to me.
I love to do so many creative things – photography, writing, my beads, cooking even – that I have to work out which stays, and then there’s my running. It’s become not just that thing to keep me fit and strong, and healthy, but I a new addiction. I have to do it. I need to do it. And as with all things I get excited about, I do the whole ‘bury myself in it’. I have so many plans of where I want it to take me. It is my mind’s saviour. That complete and utter ‘me’ time.
Blogs and social media have had to be reconfigured so I can get the best of it without spending all my time having worrying about what’s happening or needing to update things. I want to be active with it because it makes me happy, not let it take over and be a slave to it.
Blogs are all but going by the wayside. I’ll be around, but in different forms. My personality deemed I opened a whole slew of the bloody things to cater for all my creativeness. The time to re focus which I will use has come. For the most part, they wont be used much. Only the ones for my market, beads, and running.
Facebook would be left completely really if it weren’t for the market I run that relies on FB for minor advertising. Twitter is just sitting there, minding it’s own business.
I’ve taken a liking to Instagram – it appeases my love of creative and abstract photography and connecting with like-minded people for my interests – running/food/jewellery/photography.
The two accounts are Jennifer-marcato and crazychickrunning for those who may be interested. Links for the other are on each.

Catch you all round somewhere, sometime.
Thanks for joining me.

Shot Tower & Saturday night with friends

Last Saturday was one of those days. On the go. And not necessarily because of Christmas, that didn’t help with the parking or shopping we had to do of course, but it was a beautiful day so you couldn’t help but feel happy. A real summer’s day (pity it didn’t last and it has rained half of this week).
We have passed but not stopped at the Shot Tower several times since being back in the state so this was our first stop of the day. At 48m (not 480m) it is high enough to get the nerves going but I seem to have gotten over this particular height, and has a fascinating history. You can check that out here. And more pictures here.

Sunny and warm maybe, but at the top it was windy enough to need to hold your hats. Or my dress as the case may be. The man decided he would snavel my camera and get a few pictures of me. I’d really like some more shots, boots and all. One day.

Once back home and after several wardrobe changes it was back to ‘the pub’ for a surprise-that-was-no-longer-a-surprise dinner. In and around the conversation I got pictures, drank bubbly, more pictures, food, bubbly… you get it.
I was asked if I was going to blog about it, “well, duh. I don’t do names, or faces, you are simply ‘my friends who need no excuse to get together and have a good time’ unless you want your faces shown…?”
Oh no. They’re not really that shy. You can hear us down the street when we really get going.
As usual a great time was had by all, and I’m sure there will be more to come in the new year.

Stepping out.

Sometimes life is such a bitch that you have to step back and let her do what she wants.

There have been times over the last few months where instead of fighting her, I’ve just given up and let her win.

The time has come that I need to take a step back from everything and try and sort myself out. I am in definite need of my holiday in October.

All my social media and blogs will be left to do own thing, which is probably not much at all, until I figure out a few things. Whether I come back yet remains to be seen.

keep writing all your wonderful posts,

jen.

A Pork Chop story from blog to reality

A response to a question I asked of another blogger revealed his favourite food was pork chops which made me hungry, and to realise I haven’t had pork chops for way too long.

And so while at the supermarket I hunted some down.
Nice, fat, juicy chops.

The recipe followed called for mash and beans but I’m a sucker for pork and coleslaw…

And because I’m also a greedy guts, I ate both.

Sizzling nicely in a hot pan.

And the end result.
Delish!!

Hope that doesn’t make you too hungry, but inspires you to get into the kitchen and try it out.
