About

Let me tell you a story.
My life is not boring.
It all started some 40 years ago, wait there, not far back. About 5 or 6 years ago. We were living in Mt Isa, western Queensland, Australia, when I started a blog on my website at the time. I was pretty crappy, and didn’t really accomplish much. I was not much into what happens on a blog or how to market it. I don’t think I was even on Facebook at that point.
Anyway, between my non stop cups of coffee, shopping and making beaded items I attempted to hold down a job (pretty easy considering), parent my three boys who were quite active in all sorts of ways (not so much now, XBox has eaten their brains) and be a wife of some kind to a shift working miner.
Life was far form boring. And nothing has changed.
Fast forward to two years past and in the space of 8 weeks we pack our entire house into a container and send it on a 2000km trip. What do we do.  Follow it, oh no, we can’t possible do that. Instead we travel 7000kms to get home again. Some detour that.
Yes, we moved back home, to Tasmania after a holiday that turned into residency.
I discover WordPress and the rest as they say is history. Well, in blogging terms anyway. The rest of my life hasn’t really changed that much.  I’m not working as such, the kids are still busy and driving me nuts, hubby has turned into a FIFO miner and my beading is still being complimented by shopping and IV coffee.
Life is far from boring and this is my story.
If you want to know more, or just want to contact me privately, the email is marcato at live dot com dot au.

Jennifer Hawkins (not the famous one, I’m two foot shorter and not blonde). 🙂

    • It’s all cool Judith, metaphorically speaking. Good to hear you’re back writing. I’m working on some writing as well. Im finding there’s a certain relaxing-ness to it. I know, I said I’m not a write, and I stand by that. Denial and all. Glad to hear everything is cool, stay safe in that freezing weather you’re having. Crazy extremes. 🙂

You like my post about Katoomba, and I’m happy about it 😀

I work in Borneo Island, Indonesia, for precise in South Borneo. I’ve been in 4 different mining company.
actually i was graduated from Technical Geology, but I’m doing a little part of geology discipline; I’m a coal quality control engineer :D.
Me to, I’ve been thinking about that too, add something here and there, but i don’t do any of it until now. kekekeke.

      • Cool. Coal is pretty intense, as is I suppose Borneo. Hubby won’t work with coal, but has done some work in PNG. You live in Aus then, while doing FIFO?

  9. I’m so jealous of you living in Tassie. I’ve visited there a few times and am in love with the place. Last time I went I had the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten in a little Indian restaurant in Hobart. Mind you I was also 8 wks pregnant and didn’t know it. Was the food really great? I might just have to go back there and find out!

  10. I love coffee, beading, and temperate climates, too! Oh, and photography. But, as you know, I have all girls. We have some loverly bead shops around here. I have this amazing bracelet from Taiwan that my friend’s puppy snapped right off my wrist. I bet you could fix it…

    • I’m sure I could. But it would cost a packet in postage, and then there’s the beads… I’m happy to, of course, but it might not be that easy. Let me know. My email is here somewhere if you’re serious. Otherwise maybe the bead shop could help out. Thanks for coming over 🙂

As a result, if you were following Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen via email, WordPress, or using RSS feeds through Google Reader or some other way, you are no longer subscribed. If you wish to continue receiving future posts from my blog you will need to re-subscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience, Teresa.
