As blogged about here I entered a mini exhibition titled Circles hosted by CRAG and the local Textile Arts Sewing group. Having no idea what I was doing, I took the simple route and made two very basic, but bright Circles entries. Delivering them on the Friday I finally got to meet another CRAG member who had just been a name on my email … always good to see the face behind the name. One more to add to my list. Saturday morning on the way to deliver my eldest to work I called in to check it out and get a few pictures to post here.
The craftsmanship of the other entries was exquisite. So many beautiful pieces of art work. And circles everywhere! Loads of gorgeous circles. Never been a big fan of circles, but the interpretations here were definitely an eye opener.
Along with the actual quilts/wall hangings and boards there was a trade table with hats, bangles, scarves and skeins of textile wools, plus another man who made the most gorgeous Iris Folding cards while his wife made cards using Encaustic art*
Some pictures of the exhibition.
*Encaustic art is just amazing. You use wax crayons on a hot iron and place it on the paper. By moving the iron you make lots of cool patterns. She does classes and I think sometime on the near future I will be heading along to one!! See here for more details.
Here’s a fun circle song to end my post… 🙂
